2/12/17 - TAVISTOCK COUNTRY BUS FEATURED ON BBC’s The One Show
On Saturday 30th September the BBC's The One Show filmed us leaving Tavistock on our Dawlish route and followed us across the moor. The show had discovered that we operate the rarest scheduled service in England: running only from April to September, only on a Saturday, and only when there's a fifth Saturday in the month, which isn't very often! It was broadcast on Tuesday 28th November - and if you missed it you can catch up with it on BBC iPlayer.
4/6/17 - Passengers will be pleased to know that the new bus stop that was installed last week on Bedford Square now contains the timetables for all our routes, both Weekdays and Saturdays. You can also pick up copies of our timetable leaflets in the Tourist Information Office in the Central shop opposite the Guildhall, in Tavistock Library and in the TASS offices.
what we do
Our services operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday when we collect passengers from areas of Tavistock and transport them into Bedford Square.
We also run a service to Trago and Newton Abbot every first and third Wednesday in every month. (See the WEEKDAYS section on how to book this Wednesday service.)
From March to October on Saturdays, we have services that travel to Exeter on the first Saturday and Truro on the second Saturday of each month. During the summer months (April to September inc.), we travel to Barnstaple on third Saturday, to Paignton and Torquay on the fourth Saturday and to Dawlish on every fifth Saturday where there is one in the month. (See the timetables for details and the SATURDAYS section for how to book these Saturday services.)
As a section 22 operator, we accept concession bus passes on all our services. Also, section 22 rules mean that we have to run our services as advertised, even if we have no passengers on board.
